Your Massage Questions, Answered:

Therapeutic Massage is generally performed using light to medium pressure and is designed to promote relaxation while addressing general muscle tension throughout the whole body. It's a great option if you're looking to unwind or simply take some time for yourself.
Deep Tissue Massage uses medium to firm pressure and focuses on specific areas of tension or tightness. Treatments are tailored to your individual needs and are often chosen by people experiencing persistent muscle tightness or the physical demands of work, training, or everyday life.
-
Not necessarily.
There may be moments where treatment feels a little uncomfortable, particularly when working through tight or sensitive areas, but it shouldn't feel unbearable. I work with you throughout the treatment to ensure the pressure remains within your comfort level.
-
That's absolutely fine.
Before your appointment you'll receive a client consultation form where you can outline any preferences, injuries, or areas you'd prefer not to have treated. We'll also discuss your goals before we begin, and you can change your mind at any point during the massage.
-
No.
You'll only be asked to remove clothing from the areas being treated, and you'll remain appropriately covered with towels throughout your appointment. Your comfort and privacy are always a priority.
-
Absolutely.
Everyone has a different preference and tolerance for pressure. While I endeavour to ask about pressure at certain points during your massage, I always encourage clients to let me know at any stage if they'd like more pressure, less pressure, or if something doesn't feel quite right.
-
Not at all.
Some people enjoy a chat, while others prefer to switch off and relax. Either is completely fine, and I'll follow your lead.
-
Some people experience mild soreness for a day or two afterwards, similar to how you might feel after exercise. This is usually temporary and settles quickly.

Massage can help reduce feelings of muscle tension and improve comfort, but posture is influenced by many factors including movement habits, strength, work demands, and lifestyle. Rather than trying to "fix" posture, I focus on helping you move and feel better
-
It depends on what's contributing to your symptoms.
Massage can help reduce feelings of muscle tension, improve comfort, and help you move more easily. However, if factors such as work demands, training, stress, or lifestyle are contributing to the problem, massage is often one part of a broader management approach rather than a complete solution.
